Thunderstorm Avoidance

The course covers topics related to thunderstorms and weather phenomena associated with thunderstorms. Microbursts, weather radar techniques, and limitations. A chapter with Ice Crystal Icing (ICI) included.

ABOUT THE COURSE

The course meets the requirements for EASA, FAA operator’s initial and recurrent training for flight crew. It is also suitable for any pilot who flies under IFR.

We have included some practical suggestions of how to operate the weather radar. However, there are today more sophisticated weather radars which will make weather detection more easier. The techniques and usage of tilt for example may not apply to the weather radar you are operating.

The course has great illustrations and explanations with audio and text.

The course is divided into chapters with a quiz after each chapter. A certificate of completion will be automatically generated after completion.
